I’ve known Pia through mutual friends/family for quite a few years now, so when she and Ian asked me to photograph their wedding, I was super stoked and of course I couldn’t wait to hear all of their plans!
Pia & Ian love the outdoors, so naturally their wedding had to be in the wild outdoors - and they knew just the place. Ian’s brother in law has a big Christmas tree farm and fisheries which are stunning. Teamed with an outdoor ceremony, with hay bales and blankets for seats and an aisle and of course the amazing yurt filled with colourful deco and loads of sugar in the shape of donuts, cake and sweets - you’ve got yourself a wedding guys!
Baring in mind, this year has been the hottest I can remember for a long time, I had the most amount of wet weather weddings EVER… and unfortunately, this day was one of them! Pia & Ian had a late ceremony, around 4pm… the bonus of not having your ceremony at a ‘venue’ means that you can be more flexible with everything - including timings! The rain was very light during the wedding ceremony itself, which was an absolute blessing! But the rest of the day, with the exception of 5 minutes in which we could do the confetti, was as rainy as it could get, with really heavy downpours! Never the less, Pia & Ian grabbed a brolly each and we headed for the woods to get some sort of shelter from the rain! They both handled the wet weather like pros and I absolutely love that!
I hope you enjoy looking at their epic outdoor wedding! Thank you so much Pia & Ian for asking me to capture your wedding day!
