I first met James & Nicola when they got in touch via email and asked to meet me at James's parents house to chat about their wedding plans. It was a gorgeous Sunday morning and they were all having breakfast out on the patio. The marquee for their wedding reception was going to be set up on the lawn in front of the house, so it was great to get an idea of their wedding location before the big day...
I absolutely LOVE home weddings - they have such a wonderful feel about them and extremely unique photographs! James & Nicola made use of their family and friends when it came to the DIY element of the day too... using all the skills and expertise they could get from family and friends who helped with all manner of things from sign writing to battery checking... to baking cakes and making canapés... to making drink stands and flower arranging... to designing invites and creating polaroid name places.
Nicola wore a two piece outfit from the Watters separate collection; she chose a long silk skirt teamed the an embellished corset to which she added straps. Together with her single, floor length veil and gold and silver LK bennett shoes, Nicola looked stunning!
James wore an Austin Reed suit in navy blue along with a grey tweed suit and a mint green tie. His groomsmen matched and they all looked the part!
Nicola and her bridesmaids walked to the church where they were married. During the service a friend performed a selection of songs and another adapted the poem 'The Owl & The Pussycat' to suit Nicola & James! The ceremony was the first time Nicola had seen her wedding ring too, which I think is a cracking idea! What a fab surprise!
Enjoy the photographs of their stunning wedding day below - and credits are at the bottom!
Lots of love - and Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary James & Nicola!
